And the winner of the 5000th NXTLOG entry is: mezzauk and his Creation: Mars Explorer Mk1 with Lander(PF Inc)

“This is my first NXT project. It is a simple explorer with a PF enabled Lander. The explorer begins by ordering the lander to lowering both sides then the front so it can exit. I had a medium PF motor spare so quickly stuck a small radar/communication tower at the back - it rotates whilst the left, right and front are deployed.

The explorer has all sensors built in but of course only 4 work depending on which program I choose to use. I am working on 3 programs 1st - will use the light, compass, IR distance sensor and Pf Sensors. 2nd - light, compass, IR and ultrasonic sensors and finally Compass, IR, Ultrasonic and Touch.

My main program uses the light sensor to locate the brightest source using the turntable, record the compass heading and use the heading to navigate to the light source…” More
