I seem to recall that at BrickFest 2007, a LEGO employee Indicated that the one reason for making the smooth version was for strength. Oh course that was a while back, and I have slept since then :)</description>

		<description>I dunno. My FLL team robot, Frobo (named after Frodo in Lord of the Rings...) was dropped (by me, I&#039;m ashamed to say) onto concrete floor. Only 1 axle broke. Maybe some pieces are suposed to break like that...</description>
