Can you Guess What I am?
This is my newest creation that I am currently working on. (Well actually one out of three that I am. HeHe) This is just the first stage of this project, Because it was a little too late at night to continue it. Like all things it will have to be ripped apart and rebuilt so that it is stronger and can support ALOT more weight. This project will use an NXT for its Propulsion and other functions
I am going to make 2 versions of this for similar yet different purposes.

Judging from the pictures can you guess what I am going to be used for? Like I had stated above there are going to be 2 variations of this used for a similar purpose but different at the same time.
One will be for… And the other for…
Leave a comment for what you will think it will be used for.

Well after somebody guessed what it is for I decided to give you guys the answer. Airkraft guessed:
“Is it to run through some kind of a track? maybe one version for the horizontal movement, and another for the vertical one?
The track would fit between two close sets of wheels.

I wanted to make some sort of overhead tram system that could be used as a crane, I had some PVC pipe leftover from another project so I went about making a set of wheels that fit over the pipe nice and tight. I only have a 16 inch piece but I am going to get some more and make a large section that goes over my desk and be to the other side of my room. This is so I can take stuff from my desk to the floor, hoping that the pipe and tram are strong enough. I also hope that it is strong enough to be able to climb up the pipe vertically, from preliminart tests I believe that it can. Here are some initial pictures of it on a pipe.

I’m guessing it’s a wheel. Each wheel can turn indivisually, and the whole module can turn, too. (I’m 99.99% sure I’m wrong, but hey, I’m guessing!)

Thats is a good guess, and that is what this is all about.

I know! It’s a creation that makes people wonder what it is! Well, I sorta got it right…

Hmmm… Are both sides connected by axles, or are they separate?

one axle through each pair of wheels

oh and some of the wheels turn different directions.

I know! I know! Is it something that shoots balls by spinning wheels?

Airkraft you nailed it right on. take a look at the NEW Pictures that show how it works.

Cool! How much traction do the wheels have on the pipe? Just wondering, since if it isn’t that strong of a grip it might spin over.

Hahahah i knew it!!!
I was working on a Santa workshop type thing last Christmas, that i will now release to the world next Christmas.
That used the same kind of thing on a much smaller scale to move both up and down, left to right, and forward and backwards.
Anyway, yay me!

it actually has quite a bit of traction. i put a motor on one side and the NXT on the other. Doing this the weight isn’t equally spread but it is heavier for horizontal movement so it can stay level. it is tight enough where it fits perfectly enough around the pipe and climb up the 16 inch pipe that i have now. i will be able to test it better tonight after I buy more pipe.
