meowmechanic on NXTLOG has created one of the best looking bipeds I’ve ever seen so far. It uses just one NXT set, and can walk forward, turn right, and turn left.

Why do the feet swivel?

The feet swivel to be able to push the robot on its side so that it can propel it forward.

Yep. Otherwise, it would just tilt from one foot to the other without moving forward.
